Atlanta, GA -October 26, 2016 - On Saturday October 22, 2016, prominent physician, national expert on women’s health and Star of Bravo TV’s “Married to Medicine”, Dr. Jackie Walters hosted the 2016 “50 Shades of Pink Foundation Annual Gala”. Held at The Ballroom At The Carlos Center the star-studded event featured 20 breast cancer warriors who bravely walked the runway wearing featured designer JE’AMOR while displaying their poise, beauty, and triumph over breast cancer. In addition to the fashion, a silent auction, delectable hor d'oeuvres, and first class entertainment; guests experienced an elegant evening of luxury, fashion, and philanthropy. Guests and performers included Dr. Heavenly Kimes & Genise Sheldon of Bravo's Married To Medicine, eOne Recording Artist and Actress Demetria McKinney and World Renowned Poet Hank Stewart each performed live. Cox Radio’s Sasha The Diva served as Mistress of Ceremony for the glamorous affair. Survivors, supporters, caretakers, celebrities and media including BE100 Radio, Essence Online, InDaHouseMedia, Africa TV1, 108 Prasie Radio, and morecame together for one night to celebrate the model's determination and courage after receiving a breast cancer diagnosis.
The gala was able to raise vital funds for the 50 Shades of Pink Foundation to ensure the organization can continue supporting thousands of breast cancer survivors worldwide. For more than four years the 50 Shades of Pink Foundation have been supporting breast cancer survivors through their journey. Described as one of the most life changing events, attendees left the gala passionate about increasing the awareness of the organization and its service after hearing the many challenges of those affected.“The event was beyond amazing. I want to thank everyone who made this show a success. I appreciate all of you from the bottom of my heart. All of my breast cancer warriors looked stunning and I could not be more proud of the courage they displayed walking the runway” stated Dr.Jackie.
The 50 Shades of Pink Foundation is a breast cancer awareness organization motivated by sharing the importance of developing a strong system of support and creating an environment of hope and optimism. The organization aims to nurture the psychological and physical well-being of breast cancer warriors and supports the philosophy that awareness and support are needed to fight with confidence and dignity. The 50 Shades of Pink Foundation was established by Dr. Jackie Walters after beating breast cancer twice. Her main goal with the organization is to take care of the men and women who are diagnosed and treated with Breast Cancer. “ Our organization nurtures the person with this disease. I would like to see all Breast Cancer survivors get through this process and start feeling and looking like a champion” explained Dr. Jackie.

About Dr. Jackie Walters
Dr. Jacqueline Walters is changing the world. As a prominent physician, Dr. Jackie (as she is affectionately known) is gaining major acclaim and public notoriety as a national expert on women’s health, a strategic philanthropist and a rising television star.
Dr. Jackie graduated from the University of Mississippi and Alcorn State University earning
dual Bachelor of Science degrees. She later earned her medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. In 1997, Dr. Jackie completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the Medical Center of Central Georgia and Mercer University. After residency, she started in private practice where she also became affiliated with Northside Hospital in Atlanta. She has remained in private practice for 18 years.
As a nationally celebrated board certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist, Dr. Jackie’s high profile clientele consists of The Braxton’s, rapper TI, and superstar Usher. In her practice, Dr. Jackie merges traditional and steadfast medicine along with a cutting-edge method that focuses on the mind, body and spirit. Her patient-focused approach and compassionate care to a diverse population of patients have afforded her recognition as a premiere medical specialist in her field.
Being a two-time breast cancer survivor, Dr. Jackie understands the effects of personal health challenges. As a dedicated teacher, she has assimilated a Women’s Wellness Program into her practice to help eradicate the increasing number of heart disease cases amongst women. In 2013, Dr. Jackie founded the 50 Shades of Pink Foundation, an organization that pays tribute to women and men diagnosed with breast cancer, nurturing their psychological and physical well-being. The charity’s mission is to treat the inner and outer beauty of breast cancer survivors. It hosts an annual fundraising luncheon in October that allows the foundation to further awareness through gifting, sponsorship of various health initiatives and family workshops.
In 2013, Dr. Jackie also burst onto the small screen as one of stars of Bravo’s hit reality series Married to Medicine where the esteemed practitioner earned legions of fans for her distinct style, sense of reason, sincere compassion and unrivaled elegance. Dr. Jackie has proved to be an important influence on the show, using the platform to display a positive and successful female image while raising awareness on the health issues that people must face each and every day.
Dr. Jackie resides in Atlanta with her husband Curtis.
